US/MEXICO BORDER PRAYER ALLIANCE
Initiated in the spring of 2008, the new MEXICO-USA Border
Prayer Alliance continues to grow—and with dynamic results. We are seeing consistent answers to prayer in
exposing drug tunnels, the arrests of drug lords, dealers, and illegal
shipments following every prayer event at the border.God is establishing strategic relationships
among Christian leaders all along the border.
40 Apostolic Leaders Meet in El Paso - June 1-2, 2009
BridgeBuilders’
team leaders Hal Sacks and Guy Chadwick, who have been working on the project
for more than a year, recently convened some 40 pastors and ministry leaders in
El Paso, Texas from AZ, NM, TX, and CA, and from several border cities in
Mexico to pray and collaborate on building a wall of prayer all along the
border. The MEXICO-USA Prayer Alliance
is currently planning a prayer drive along the 2,000-mile border from Tijuana,
Mexico to Brownsville, Texas, stopping along the way to hold prayer rallies and
connect with leaders on both sides of the border.
Earlier
in the spring Hal and Guy coordinated a prayer journey to Tijuana and Mexicali in
conjunction with leadership teams at each location that brought immediate
results. Two days later Hector Huerta Rios, a major drug lord, was arrested and Mexican officials
tore down more than 35 idols dedicated to Santa Muerte, the “Death-Saint”
associated with the drug trade along the border. In addition, officials posted military guards
to see that these idols will not be rebuilt!

A few days later, on Friday April 3rd, Nine MSN
News reported the arrest of Carrillo Leyva, nicknamed "the Lord of the
Skies" for sending jetliners full of cocaine to the United States.
Death Saint
Drug
dealers, thugs, and the Mexican drug cartel worship this patron saint of death
and believe it gives them power.New
Mexico leader Jack Webb, pastor of Destiny Church in Albuquerque, has
researched this patron saint and discovered that the shrines are painted
different colors for the different help it is believed they give to their
worshippers.
The
initiative’s first major event was held July 4, 2008, when pastors and
apostolic leaders from both sides of the border gathered simultaneously to pray
at several key border sites. In addition to being American Independence Day, it
was the 160th anniversary (four complete generations) of the Treaty
of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848, which was signed by the Presidents of both
nations and declares that our nations shall be good neighbors. The event was
picked up by the Associated Press and the photos were carried by newspapers from
Memphis to Germany.
Years
of relationship building by Arizona Legislative Chaplain Jon McHatton, with a
team of pastors in Mexicali, Mexico laid the groundwork for the alliance along
with years of prayer and networking by pastors and leaders all along the
border.

Seven Key Border Prayer Points

friendship
4) Confer reciprocal benefits
5) Assure concord, harmony, and mutual
confidence
