CITYFEST UPDATE
We often focus on 2 Chronicles 7:14... "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray...then
I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and will heal their land..." and
rightly so! However, it is striking to
know that this was the Lord's promise to His people after He filled the
house of the Lord with the weight of His glory in 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 in
response to the completion and dedication of the temple.
In fact, the Lord actually filled His house with His glory twice
in advance of 2 Chronicles 7:14! Two
chapters earlier: "when the priests came
forth from the holy place...in unison...with one voice... accompanied with
instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord... then the house of the
Lord was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister
because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God" (2
Chronicles 5:11-14).
If we apply this pattern in God's word to Arizona we see the
priority of establishing the house of the Lord.
The continuous torch of prayer, the emerging 24/7 houses of prayer and
church prayer rooms, noon hour prayer and other regular prayer meetings, and
the evenings of corporate worship and intercession at multiple locations, all
are evidence of the Lord building His house of prayer in Arizona. "Unless
the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord
guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain" (Psalm 127:1).
We are following the pattern of the Lord. He is building His house in Arizona. Let us continue to join Him in establishing
His house of prayer inviting His weighty, tangible presence. His "shekinah" glory will come! Therefore, let us continue to pray
accordingly:
I.
ESTABLISHING THE HOUSE OF PRAYER IN ARIZONA
*LET'S PRAY: Thank you, O God, for building Your house of
prayer in Arizona. Thank You for the
non-stop torch of prayer burning ever-brightly from place to place throughout
our state. Thank You for the 24/7 houses
of prayer and church prayer rooms You are raising up in so many of our cities. Thank You for the places of worship and intercession
where Your Spirit is moving in fervency and joy. Thank You for bringing pastors and churches
together in prayer and unity. Thank You
for inspiring prayer along and across the border. Thank You for establishing Your house of
prayer-the House of the Lord-in Arizona.
We dedicate ourselves to You.
Complete Your work in us and through us that we may experience the full
weight of Your glory as Israel did in Solomon's day! Come, O God!
Amen.
See
the Lite the Fire website at www.litethefire.org

AWAKE ARIZONA IN TUCSON - SEPTEMBER
16-18!
In two weeks the AWAKE ARIZONA Tour will stop in
Tucson at Victory Worship Center, September 16-18 with Dutch Sheets, Lou Engle,
Cindy Jacobs and the BridgeBuilders team-go to AwakeArizona.com for more
information. This promises to be a
particularly powerful time of worship, prophetic insight, and effective
intercession for southern Arizona and all our region.
*LET'S PRAY: Father, we need You! Prepare all of our hearts to meet with You in
a special, powerful way in Tucson.
Prepare and protect each of the speakers, coordinators and hosts of the AwakeArizona
conference. Thank You for Pastor Zane
and Jan Anderson of Victory Worship Center-bless them and all those that are
volunteering to make this happen. We
invite Your glory to come!
III.
IMMIGRATION ISSUES AND THE BORDER
*LET'S PRAY: O Lord, You say in Isaiah that we are to
reason together. We are to be just,
righteous, respectful, humble and loving. We ask for the wisdom of God to come
to our government leaders, public policy makers, and law enforcement at the
local, state and federal level. Help us all
to understand the distinct roles and practical functions of government and the
Church in society. We ask for peace,
justice, reconciliation, understanding, and wise solutions to the complicated
immigration issues. We stand against the
spiritual forces that cause confusion, bring division and incite fear.
We ask for protection for all our
citizens and law enforcement officers affected by those who are intending or
doing harm connected with the drug trade, human trafficking and other illegal
activities associated with the border.
We continue to ask for evil to be exposed and justice done to the cartel
leaders, cartels and gangs, and any corrupt government officials on either side
of the border. We bless the people and
land of Mexico, that God would provide for and protect the families suffering
from the corruption and violence. Bring
economic prosperity and integrity to both of our countries. Stop the lure and demand for illegal drugs in
the United States and the terrible waste and destruction they cause.
You, O God, are our Lord and
Savior and the only hope for our borderlands.
We thank You for Your abundant blessings and for the many answers to
prayer we have already seen. Come in a
mighty way. May Your houses of prayer be
fully established in communities all along the border. Amen.
IV.
UPCOMING ELECTIONS
*LET'S PRAY: O
God, we enter into the final two months of this year's election cycle. So many campaigns are being waged with such a
mixture of truth and lies. Grant to us
discernment to know the truth and the character of the candidates. May the Church rise up and be engaged in the
process through prayer and action. Remove
the confusion and apathy in the Church. Make
Your priorities clear to us and inspire us to vote accordingly. May all Arizonans see the truth. We pray especially for an honest and unbiased
media. Let us not be deceived by
appearances or slogans or political tricks, but help us all discern with Your
eyes the candidates that are Your choice for each office. During this season we pray for each candidate
to have a greater revelation and experience of You and Your ways. Protect and bless each of these candidates
along with their families and staff. May
You be glorified in these elections. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen.
General Election: Early voting opens October 7; Election Day is
Tuesday, November 2.

STATE-TO-STATE AND NATIONAL PRAYER
The United States
Reformation Prayer Network (USRPN) continues the "Root52" initiative (www.generals.org)
from state-to-state-from Oregon (8/27-9/3) to Kansas (9/3-10) to West Virginia
(9/10-17) to Nevada (9/17-24) to Nebraska (9/24-10/1).
*LET'S PRAY: Father, we thank You for Your Spirit moving
throughout our nation. Bless the people,
governments, land and churches of Oregon, Kansas, West Virginia, Nevada and
Nebraska this month. Further strengthen
the prayer movements in each of these states.
We also pray for our protection against terrorist attack. Many have received prophetic words concerning
the Labor Day weekend, particularly on the East Coast. Protect our nation as Hurricane Earl
approaches from the south. Give
President Obama and his staff and all those who are gathering for the upcoming
Mideast peace talks involving Israel and the Palestinians wisdom and
revelation-even the fear of the Lord. May
You and Your word be respected and Your glory come! Amen.

ARIZONA CITYFEST UPDATE
Arizona
CityFest continues to gather momentum with more than 350 churches now
committed to work together and serve their communities! The goal is at least 800 churches. There will be many special events beginning
in October, including major prayer events, seasons of service projects of great
impact in our communities, and a large festival at Tempe Town Lake on March
19-20, 2011. See the ArizonaCityFest.com
website for more details.
*LET'S PRAY: Thank
you, God, for the great opportunities we have for city- and state-wide prayer
and service. We ask for your protection
and provision for all the preparations as God continues to bring transformation
to Arizona through these special events.
We see Your hand and timing in
bringing Arizona CityFest this season.
We pray specifically for a deep and lasting bond between pastors and
churches throughout Arizona at this crucial time. Thank you for the values of prayer and
community service which are central to Arizona CityFest. We pray for wisdom, favor, provision and
protection for all the leaders and partners of the Arizona CityFest
project-perhaps the largest collaboration among pastors, churches and business
leaders in our state's history. Do great
things in Arizona, O God! Amen.
Thank you for praying and may we all experience the glory of the
Lord in a very tangible way in the coming days!
